Holiday Traditions at Six Star

Holiday traditions are part of what make the holiday season so special. While most things in life are short-lived, holiday traditions give us a sense of permanence, which is comforting. Some of our favorite traditions at Six Star are baking assorted cookies, such as Decadent Black & Whites, Classic Sugar Cookies, and Hearty Oatmeal. We like to sip on hot chocolate and spiced steamy cider when we taste-test them, too.

Another tradition we have is that we like to listen to Christmas music beginning on December 1st all the way until December 31st. By listening for the whole month, we really get the full feeling of Christmas and it adds to the merry ambience in the kitchen. We also try to have themes for our gift-giving each year, such as “treat yourself/spa” or “artsy and creative.”

Gift-giving on Christmas is a tradition in itself that the three wise men started over 2000 years ago when they brought their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to the newborn King of Kings—Jesus. And thank God, that He gave His only begotten Son—the true reason for the season!—to save whosoever believes in Him. What are some holiday traditions that you look forward to each year?
