Get Ready For Thanksgiving

An attitude of gratitude will keep your spirit lifted throughout the year—you don’t have to wait for Thanksgiving to feel thankful! Aside from the usual things that people feel grateful for (health, family, friends, jobs, etc.), you can also feel thankful for the small things in life. Too often, we go through our days feeling “put upon” by our obligations but we can reframe our thinking so that we remove ourselves from the mindset of “I HAVE to do this” to “I GET to do this.” For example, a typical daily thought may be: “Ugh, I have to do laundry again. It piles up so quickly! It never ends.” If we reframe our thinking to be more positive, this thought changes to: “There’s a lot of laundry but I’m glad I have the resources available to have clean laundry, while others may not.” That is how we can remain thankful and grateful year-round. And on that note…let’s talk turkey 😊

Turkey is the staple of the Thanksgiving meal. Whether we get it pre-roasted from Costco or Wegmans, or we make the effort ourselves to stuff, tie the legs, and baste that birds for hours. It’s tradition. But just because it’s a tradition, doesn’t mean we can’t have variations in its preparation! Below are some ideas for different types of turkey for this Thanksgiving.

-Paprika Roast Turkey: if you’re looking for something with a little kick!

-Roast Turkey with Cranberry-Orange Glaze: a zesty spin on the classic bird.

-Bacon Wrapped Turkey: who doesn’t love bacon?

-Maple-Roasted Turkey with Sage, Bacon, and Cornbread Stuffing: a flavorful and elevated option.
